We use the internet for so many things in our daily lives. When we want to go to a store, we enter "directions." When we're hungry, we hit "food delivery." When we plan a vacation, we search, "flights to Orlando." We search for EVERYTHING online. Interestingly, criminals also search for things online - "How to start a car without keys," "How to build a bomb." Authorities find those searches and use them in court.
Criminals may not make their searches obvious, such as, "How to blow up a bomb?" https://youtube.com/shorts/GxXgT6mklI0?si=sG5hYNRLO2SlJooK But authorities look for things that could go to the element of intent or motive. In one case, someone made a site for finding a hit man (as a joke), and it was used to catch actual criminals - https://youtube.com/shorts/w87p0bV7Hgs?si=Y-oKytX-IPe3zSBq
If someone searches for,
"How quickly does life insurance pay?"
"Can they get DNA evidence off a doorknob?"
"Will laundry bleach wipe away fingerprints?
"Singles near me," shortly before their spouse disappeared
"How long does it take for hair dye to fade away?"
Authorities would question the motive for these types of searches in investigating a crime. How do authorities obtain this evidence? They could get it through subpoenas, which are formal legal requests for search histories. They could present these to an Internet Service Provider.
A person's internet activities could also be used by employers in trying to learn more about an applicant - Sosyal Medya - Sadece Eğlenmek İçin Kulanılmiyor https://www.communityabroad.com/turkish/post/1000000052144
