The word "COVID-19" has changed our lives forever. The video here is a sad reminder of what life in a busy city turned into when the pandemic first started. We became used to seeing floor markings at stores that read, "Stand 6 feet apart." We became used to restaurant signs that said, "No mask, no service."
Back then, you couldn't go anywhere without your trusty N95 mask. People sometimes turned back to pick up a mask they left at home, just to go to the supermarket. But a new approach might be beginning. In one New York county, it is now illegal to WEAR a mask... quite the opposite of things four short years ago.
Why the turnaround in the law? Officials say that the mask ban is to reduce crime. They say that masks have gone from being a health measure to being a form of concealing identity. As more cities consider mask bans, people will argue this issue from different angles... civil liberties, health & safety, and more.
I think about when COVID-19 first started. I couldn't believe I was walking into a bank wearing a mask - something that might get someone arrested in the age before COVID.
Good Luck - Kendinize İyi Bakın
